David Clausen praised their pastries, declaring them the best he’s ever tasted, even comparing them to offerings from Paris. Meanwhile, Sue Dacko recounts her delightful biking adventure that concluded at The Fancy Farmer, with an appreciation for the robust flavors of the food and the exquisite blueberry cheesecake ice cream.

Of course, no café is without its minor hitches—one customer noted a slight hiccup regarding a smoothie order, but the charm of the café and its staff shone through bright enough to keep her hopeful for a future visit.

In summary, The Fancy Farmer is more than just a café; it’s a hub of community and flavor that captures the essence of farm-to-table dining in a cozy, engaging setting. Great spot! I encourage everyone to stop in if you are going through, going on a weekend drive; or simple have a craving for an amazing sandwich! Try the smoke brisket sandwich, it’s really good! The chili is amazing as well! The staff is top notch! Don’t just take my advice, get in your car and go try it for yourself!

Best pastries I've ever had. And I lived in Paris and sampled pastries in maybe 20 countries in Europe. People leaving were friendly. That's a sign. Young ladies inside were friendly, cheerful & charming. Seriously! Furniture & decor awesome. Can't wait to come back & introduce freinds & family & try other menu items .

I ordered a smoothie, they couldn't tell me what was in it...and they seemed to be making it up as they went. Who puts ice cream and banana in a berry smoothie? It was good, but lots of calories I wasn't expecting. Plus, they didn't start making it until two other customers were served after me. This place is cute, but I'm not sure if I will go back with service like that. Also, I couldn't find many healthy options on the menu. Looks like the outdoor patio in the back will be great for summer.

Biked the Dakota Rail Trail today and stopped here to eat and so glad we did! We ordered the smoked brisket sandwich with a side of rosemary potatoes, and the best flatbread I've ever eaten: the grilled chicken flatbread. The food was delicious! Then others were talking about how great the ice cream was so we ordered some for dessert. The blueberry cheesecake ice cream was the perfect end to our meal. We will definitely will be eating here again when we are biking in the area.

Great little café at end of town off Dakota trail. Breakfast sandwiches good but burrito was best. Highly recommend a large My Donkey Boy latte/cooler. Good selection of ice cream

Only ordered a latte, so I can't say how the food is. The pastries looked delicious. My latte was beautiful. The ice cream options were tempting.

"Fancy" indeed. The moment you walk in either door, you're greeted by antique furniture and wall decor. Make your way to the NW corner to collect a menu from the counter. One side of the menu is all beverage options, while the other side has a few sandwiches, soups, flatbread, and appetizers. Only complaint would be to add more food options or a special of the day. Seating is on both sides. High top tables, lounging couch, and chairs are on the East side, while tables and chairs are on the West side. This was overwhelming at first, but once we got the feel of the place we became more acquainted with where everything was, such as, the water and napkin station is kitty corner the counter, and the cold beverages are next to the ice cream/pick up counter. For inquiring minds who want to know more about the cheese pizza cupcake - I did and so did another couple, you have the option of ordering 1 ("kids meal") or 3 with the option of added sausage. I'd say about 3" in diameter; it comes with a side of marinara and kettle chips. And, yes, it was tasty! However, the turkey bacon sandwich with cranberry bread was tasty, but was lacking a condiment (ranch dressing or mayo), which made it dry. With a dressing, it would have been delicious. I added the roasted rosemary potatoes for an extra $3, which didn't get served until I was nearly finished eating. I love me some rosemary and potatoes, but I wasn't loving these. Dry, and way too much potato flavor with barely rosemary flavor. Had there been butter, it may have been better. In conclusion, if you're looking for a quick dine in while on the road whether it's a sandwich and pop, coffee and a cinnamon roll or ice cream on a waffle cone, this "fancy" bustling small-business-owned cafe may have something of your taste. Check it out and see for yourself.
